Timber spikes are designed in such a way that they pin two or more wooden entities together. Their semi-cone pointed fetter drive threads tend to speed up installation as they could be driven well into the wood similar to a nail.

The huge, low-profile head of the timber spike provides a large bearing surface so that the bolt doesn’t pull into the wood. Lugs or fins on the base of the head seem to bite into the wood, ultimately preventing the installed timber spike from turning. We also supply timber bolts, the same bolt that comes with a national coarse thread.

Manufacturing

Baseline Bolt manufactures quality timber spikes of diameter 1/2″ - 1-1/2″ in most of the ASTM, AASHTO, and SAE specifications. We also accommodate special request for thread type, heading, and finishes.

Standard Thread Length

The minimum thread length shall be equal to half the nominal spike length plus 1/2″.
