Also known as swedged anchor rod, a swedged anchor bolt is used as an alternative to headed anchor bolt, epoxy anchor, bent anchor bolt or threaded anchor rod. These rods are used often in work involving highways, particularly along with bridge bearings. While the threaded end projects right from the concrete, the embedded end has indentations pressed well into the round bar in order to offer pull-out resistance. The National Steel Bridge Alliance and AASHTO generally call these anchors swaged anchor rods. The indentations on these swedged rods are normally formed by first pressing deformations well into the rod and then displacing the steel instead of machining the steel away so as to form dimples.
Manufacturing
Baseline Bolt manufactures swedge anchor rods of diameter up to 3″. A few engineers and agencies may be in need of a varied swedging pattern. At BBI, we can accommodate any of your requirements with regards to swedge anchor rods. All you need to do is just provide us a drawing of the exact pattern and indentation sizes.
