Characterized by a round head with a square neck, Carriage bolts most commonly find their usage in wood connections. Well, the square shape of the neck helps the round head to be well placed into the wood hole, thereby preventing the bolt head from turning. Since carriage bolts are used largely with wood, they don’t generally exhibit high strength and are most often supplied under the standard ASTM A307 specification.

Manufacturing

Baseline Bolt manufactures carriage bolts of diameter 1/2″ - 1-1/4″ in most of the ASTM, AASHTO, & SAE specifications. It is possible to create special tooling so as to produce nonstandard bolt heads, head dimensions or carriage bolts that are larger than one inch diameter with the name and/or logo of your company.
